Just when you think there are no more wild vehicles out there. Something comes along to change your mind. Take this 1966 Mercedes Benz Unimog car hauler. Going up for sale next week at the Bonhams' Amelia Island auction.
Known as a "Niederflurhubwagen" ("low floor elevating truck"), this particular 406 series Unimog is powered by a 5.7 liter inline 6 cylinder diesel engine paired with a 4 speed manual transmission. With an extensive history from new, it came to the U.S. in 2001 and was purchased and restored by the current owner in 2008.
We'll be at the Bonhams sale and can't wait to see this wild factory creation in person. Hopefully, they will have a car on the back for display.
