TechArt revives the classic duck tail spoiler for the Porsche 911 Carrera and GT3 Touring.

While many enthusiasts crave the classic whale tail spoiler that came out with the Porsche 930 Turbo; I have always been partial to the classic duck tail spoiler that originated on the 911 Carrera 2.7.  This style spoiler has popped up from time to time on newer 911s, specifically the 911 Sport Classic.

German tuner Techart has stepped up to the plate to offer a modern take on the duck tail for the current 992 generation 911. Specifically, the Carrera and GT3 Touring. This two part rear spoiler is easy to install and consists of a paintable carbon fiber base frame and carbon spoiler lip, saving a third in weight compared to the standard rear wing. The characteristic spoiler lip can be individually matched to the Porsche owner’s vehicle in matte or high gloss visible carbon fiber or painted body color.

Full aerodynamic simulation was employed during the design and development process of the spoiler, which features integrated air ducts built in. These ensure an improved engine cooling thanks to an increased airflow to the intercoolers. The fixed rear spoiler also provides high downforce in all driving modes and ensures well balanced aerodynamics even at high speeds.
