Our friends at the Minerva Motor Club from nearby Minerva, Ohio have announced their first national SuperFly event which will be held September 20th, at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. What is SuperFly? Well, according to Minerva co founder and organizer John Dunlap,
In 1999, a group of like-minded car enthusiasts came together to meet people, make friends, and share ideas on tuner car modification. The event was called Superfly Sunday. The event quickly outgrew those first parking lots, eventually finding a home at the Spaghetti Warehouse.
In 2015, the decision was made to move the event to a new venue on Saturday evenings, partnering with the University of Akron parking deck. More popular than ever, the event routinely drew hundreds of enthusiasts and their cars to share their creativity and passion for modified cars.
Now two decades later, SuperFly is sort of a post RADWood type event. So Where RADWood ends, SuperFly pics up, showcasing tuner cars of the 1990s and early 2000s being a full day event, with the party becoming a nightlife event. But everything is really welcome, as it's about community. Making a full sensory throwback event.
The hope with taking the show on the road, is to build a national following with events across the country. To help accomplish this, Minerva Motor Club has partnered with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). This will add an added feature to many SCCA events nationwide.
